"Great Concert!", "Gary V is not just a great singer, he is a total entertainer", "Super Sulit!", "Ang galing niya grabe!", "It's the most memorable concert I've ever attended."
These were just some of the comments of alumni who attended the homecoming concert in St. Jude last night.
The concert was hosted by Judenite Tim Yap, who made the crowd feel at home with his own memories of growing up in St. Jude. The prep, grade school and high school performances were also a joy to watch, as it brought back memories for all alumni of their time in St. Jude.
Gary Valenciano performed and literally connected with Judenites in a jam packed auditorium. The concert was full of surprises from Gary V having to change his pants in the middle of the concert after having ripped it, to his 19 year old son Gabriel Valenciano making a surprise LIVE appearance on stage to her 14 year old daughter Keanna performing a virtual duet with her dad.
In a concert that was supposed to have ended at 10pm, Gary gave in to the audience's request for more by extending the concert 3 times...singing songs for at least another hour...people were waving neon lights as he sang, there were songs like "I will be here." where the audience sang there hearts out and spontaneous dancing erupted when he started singing songs from the 80's like "Every Breath You Take" by Sting and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears...
Alumni from batch 73 to 2007 were treated to their brand of music, something that nobody in the crowd expected.
This night is one for the history books, as judenites it felt good to be back home. The alumni association raised P1.7M for the school's renovation project in the process.
Thank you for all your support! Welcome home Judenites!
